The new intake system is a points-based system that assigns candidates a registration score that determines whether they are invited to apply. Applicant's scores are based on a number of factors that reflect an individual's ability to succeed in the labour market and contribute to the provincial economy. Factors such as education, direct work experience, a BC employment offer, wage rate, and the location of the job offer will all be considered.
While the 2016 BC PNP allocation from the federal government has yet to be confirmed, British Columbia is calling on the federal government to increase its allocation from 5800 to 9000.
