Prior to 2013, the program was called Peachtree Accounting (U.S.) and Simply Accounting (Canada).
The original idea for Sage 50 Accounting software was developed right here in Vancouver. In 1985, Adrian Robson and Tom O’Flaherty formed Bedford Software and created the platform that is now developed and sold by The Sage Group as Sage 50 Accounting.

Sage 50 is full-featured, easy to use and well-supported by the Sage Group. It is an effective way for small businesses, accountants, freelancers and entrepreneurs to organize their finances and bookkeeping all in one place. Because of the three available versions, users are able to choose the software best suited for their financial needs. Users can choose to purchase a licence or a subscriptption (which includes unlimited tech support and cloud data), with licences starting at $209/year and subscriptions starting at $25/month.
Sage 50 was designed to be as user-friendly as possible. No previous accounting experience is necessary to use Sage 50.
