Register TodayIn this course, students will explore the history of Quebec Immigration Law. Topics covered in the course will be: the Canada-Quebec Accord; the ability of Quebec to select foreign nationals for temporary and permanent entry to Quebec; the unique role of the Quebec Ministère de l'Immigration, de la Francisation et de l'Intégration (MIFI).
This course will also provide an overview and analysis of Quebec Immigration pursuant to the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA), the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR), the Quebec Immigration Act (QIA),and Quebec Immigration Regulations (QIR)and a review of the relevant forms and case law.

Although there are no official prerequisites for this course, it is expected that participants have an understanding of Canadian Immigration Law and the particular topic covered. With its intricate material, a basic knowledge of the subject matter will be needed to fully benefit from this learning experience.

Ashton College uses web conferencing tools for conducting online classes and online learning management systems for managing resources, assignments, and grades. These tools help instructors and students connect live online as well as asynchronously. The basic requirements for online learning include a computer, webcam, speakers, and a microphone or a headset and headphones, along with a reliable internet connection.
