Published On: October 20, 2017Quite often new immigrants’ career success in Canada is hindered by their lack of local work experience, foreign credentials and limited connections in the field. To overcome these barriers some people choose to take a short-term professional program to brush up their knowledge and adjust their experience to Canadian standards. Aizaz Sattar was among those who followed this pattern – he took a Diploma in Human Resources Management program at Ashton College which helped him to pursue the Chartered Professionals in Human Resources (CPHR) designation.
Aizaz chose Ashton College for the flexibility in delivery and the high expertise of the faculty. The instructors shared their first-hand experience in human resources and guided their students through the process of becoming designated CPHRs. During his HR courses, Aizaz appreciated the opportunity to communicate with the professionals in the field, to get their insights and advice that helped to forward his career. Currently, Aizaz is working as an Employer Relations Advisor at Pacific Blue Cross and is looking forward to broadening his portfolio and getting experience in developing human resources strategies.
