Certificate in Business Immigration Law Overview

This certificate in Business Immigration Law will deal with the Quebec Investor Class, Quebec Entrepreneur Class, Start-up Business Class, and Self-employed Persons Class. In addition, this certificate will deal with the Provincial Nominee Class as relates to entrepreneurs and Service Canada’s Owner/Operator Labour Market Impact Assessments.

As students progress their careers in this industry, we recommend visiting our Immigration Practitioner Centre to develop their skillset.

Topics/Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to:

  1. Analyze the relevant sections of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR) and policies of government agencies relating to Business Immigrants.
  2. Analyze the case law relating to the relevant sections of the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act (IRPA) and the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations (IRPR) and policies of government agencies relating to Business Immigrants.
  3. Produce a detailed and practical analysis of various strategies relating to Business Immigrants.

Admission Requirements

Although there are no formal admission requirements for this course, due to the advanced nature of the material covered, it is presumed that attendees have a basic knowledge of Canadian Immigration Law in general and this topic in particular.

Credential

Upon completion of the course requirements, a Certificate of Completion will be issued.

Live Online Students

Ashton College uses web conferencing tools for conducting online classes and online learning management systems for managing resources, assignments, and grades. These tools help instructors and students connect live online as well as asynchronously. The basic requirements for online learning include a computer, webcam, speakers, and a microphone or a headset and headphones, along with a reliable internet connection. Though online learning can be pursued using smartphones and tablets, the use of laptops or desktop computers is encouraged for an enhanced learning experience.
