Published On: April 1, 2015The Canada-B.C. Job Grant is an employer-driven, cost-sharing skills training program aimed at supporting the training of British Columbians for available jobs, assisted by employers participating as partners in the skills training system and sharing the associated costs.
The grant covers up to two-thirds of the cost of training an employee, to a maximum of $10,000 per grant.
A wide range of training is therefore eligible under the Grant. This includes, but is not limited to:
Eligible training must lead to an available job in BC. The training can take place in a variety of settings, including classroom, workplace or online. To be eligible, the training must be delivered by a BC thirdparty trainer that is independent of the employer and whose main business activity is to provide training, including but not limited to a university, community or career college, union training centre, industry association, or private trainer.
Eligible training costs include:
BC employers or organizations acting on behalf of employers in the private and not-for-profit sectors with a plan to train workers for new or better jobs in BC may apply for the Grant. Self-employed individuals and sole proprietorships can apply on their own behalf.
