financial servicesWhen seeking a career as a financial planner, investing in the right course can put you ahead of the competition… and in a higher pay bracket.

You see, excluding Quebec, there is no legislated standard for those offering financial planning services. With increased awareness and looming dangers of unqualified practitioners, clients are doing their homework and searching for Certified Financial Planners with internationally recognized credentials.

As the Financial Standards Planning Council (FSPC) puts it:

“The CFP designation provides assurance to Canadians that the design of their financial future rests with an appropriately qualified professional who will put clients’ interests ahead of their own.”

The Certified Financial Planner (CFP) certification is the most widely recognized financial planning designation in Canada, representing the highest level of competence, ethics and practice. CFPs often earn more than those who are not certified, with 50% earning more than $100,000 per year.

By working closely with the FSPC, Ashton College offers a Certified Financial Planner program (see the FPSC-accredited Core Curriculum program), designed to help students gain industry standard qualifications and access to higher earning potential.
